Communications Center

Communications Center

The REACH Communications Center (Flight Guard) is staffed seven days a week, 24 hours a day, with a team of highly skilled flight coordinators. Our flight coordinators are both patient-transport specialists and aviation flight-following experts; the skillset to have both requires rigorous academy and on-the-job training as well as a high level of professional commitment from our team.

Our communications center partners with public agencies, hospitals and other transport providers to ensure we are working together to provide transport services for the critically ill or injured. Flight Guard oversees transport coordination from start to finish. Whether our patients are flying in a helicopter, fixed-wing aircraft or being transported by ground ambulances during unflyable weather events, Flight Guard is central in all communications and coordination.

In 2018, we began our “No Patient Left Behind” initiative. This call-to-action was to ensure that, during unflyable weather events or when system status resource availability issues arise, REACH can be relied upon to locate appropriate transport solutions for every one of our patients.

We utilize the industry recognized satellite tracking system SkyTrac, our ROIP two-way radio communications, a wealth of on-demand technical resources and in-house flight-following services for our entire fleet. We are prideful about our commitment to our crews, their safety and the safety of the patients and communities we serve.

One call to the communications center at REACH results in immediate, focused and experienced coordination of patient admission and transport needs.
