Jennifer Fennerl

We talked to Program Manager Jeff Cress about Jennifer and here is what he had to say:

Jennifer is a cornerstone at REACH 1. Her work ethic and commitment are exemplary. From filling shifts and teaching NRP at academy to coming in on her days off to assist with neonatal transports, she is always willing to lend a hand. Overall, Jennifer is an outstanding Flight Nurse and is very deserving of this award.

Chris Coulter

We talked to Assistant Chief Pilot Matthew Higginbotham about Chris and here is what he had to say:

Chris has been a great addition to our Stockton base. He is an incredibly dedicated person who always gives 110 percent. When staffing issues come up, Chris always volunteers to help fill shifts and he does so with a great attitude.

We talked Program Manager Kim Adams about Melinda and here is what she had to say:

Melinda goes Above and Beyond the call of duty to serve those around her. She accomplishes this by consistently going out of her way for others, by anticipating their needs, and by bringing creative ideas and solutions to issues standing in the way of team goals. She genuinely cares and actively engages herself in contributing daily to improving herself, her team, and the work environment. Melinda demonstrates a deep connection to our mission and is truly the heart of REACH 3.

John has flown thousands of hours serving our customers in a safe and efficient manner for years. His experience and his great sense of humor have made him a key player in the success of the Redding base.

DJ Strong

Aircraft Maintenance Technician II
REACH 6, Lakeport, CA

We talked to Program Manager Jeff Cress about DJ and here is what he had to say:

DJ Strong is dedicated to the safety of our crews and patients in the work that he does. DJ worked several weeks as the only AMT to support the base and prevent out of service time. He also helps the staff out in ways, such as taking food and supplies to a crew when they were stranded by a mechanical event, then shuttling them back home.

He is a huge part of our family at REACH 8 and we wouldn’t have it any other way. Each crew member puts their trust in his mechanical acumen. He is very deserving of this award.

Steven Powell is the finest employee and pilot within this organization. His consistency, integrity, honesty, and work ethic are an inspiration to all with whom he works. Steve is most definitely a highly valued and trusted asset who is a delight to know and work alongside.Steve brings a long history of service to REACH. Having retired as a Texas State Trooper with the Department of Public Service and working as a Helicopter EMS pilot with Air Evac Lifeteam, his experience is invaluable.Steve always has a smile on his face and has a disposition that invites open and honest communication. His easy-going manner and ability to roll with the punches make him a well-grounded individual and one on whom others rely.

Melanie Munns

We talked to Program Manager Jeff Diehl about Melanie and here is what he had to say:

Melanie is what you call an all season’s kind of flight nurse. From 5 a.m. hospital demonstrations to organizing and providing in-house customer education, it all seems like a cakewalk for Melanie. She voluntarily takes on a significant amount of responsibility and works hard to maintain her reputation for providing exceptional patient care. Moreover, she does all of this while working at a high-volume, high-performance base like ours.

We talked to Regional Assistant Chief Pilot Ed Stearns about Karen and here is what he had to say:

Karen is a superb and dependable lead pilot. She’s got great rapport with our crew, the specialty team members and hospital staff. She is always willing to take on extra shifts and puts a lot of work in managing the pilot schedule effectively. She’s been instrumental in developing and implementing a comprehensive flight-team training program that has resulted in strong integration between our team and hospital staff. And to top it all off, she also survived the recent flooding in Texas. (I suspect it’s because she has her own ark.)

Jess Smith

We talked to Lead Pilot John Eskridge about Jess and here is what he had to say:

Jess is a huge asset to the base. He is our newest pilot and has been with us for about 7 months now. He is a complete self-starter with a great attitude, an endless amount of energy and a lot of motivation. He learns quickly and is already volunteering to take on base improvement projects. You can tell that our mission and culture really resonate with him because he often talks about how much he loves working here.

Jeremy embodies the spirit of a true team player. He is always the first person to step up and offer a helping hand. He is a huge asset to REACH 17 and is very deserving of this award.

We talked to Program Manager Jeff Cress about JohnRey and here is what he had to say:

JohnRey has grown to become a leader at REACH 18. He is strong clinician and an excellent preceptor for both nurses and paramedics. He regularly assists with start-up teams in other states and has been successfully filling the role of interim Medical Crew Lead for R18 for several months now. He takes challenges head on and rises to the occasion with an exceptional amount of commitment and attention to detail.

Casey Brown

We talked to Program Manager Steven Thompson about Casey and here is what he had to say:

Casey was promoted to MCL in the last half of 2015. Since then he has taken on the base responsibilities as his own and holds everything close to ensure his crews succeed. He does not stop until the job is done and done right. He knows that his base was a new acquisition and has embraced the REACH way. He instills culture and confidence in all his crew members. He is very approachable, thinks through problems, and requires the crews to have input into what is going on. For a location that is very remote in comparison to others, he does not allow the distance to become an issue in ensuring the REACH culture, reputation, and standards are met.

Sean is amazing at what he does. All of the other bases are constantly trying to steal him away from us! He gets along with everyone; he has great customer service skills, and an excellent attitude. He is a solid mechanic and serves as a great resource for the other Agusta bases.
Sean not only services our helicopter with efficiency, he is asked to work and help with other bases frequently.
Sean is not just amazing at what he does for our aircraft; he's a great member of our team and community. We love having him around. He is both professional and hilarious.

Don Brooks has exhibited a “go get’em” attitude with his desire to forge relationships with local Hospitals and EMS agencies. Program Manager Jordan Owen turned the mic over to Ann-Michelle’s crewmates:

Ann-Michelle is the foundation of the REACH 28 medical crew. Her years of experience as a flight nurse make her an excellent preceptor and a wealth of knowledge for all crew members. In addition, she goes Above and Beyond covering open shifts and making sure the base stays stocked as the supply officer. These are just a few reasons she is so deserving of this award.

Michael Webster has been the glue and backbone of the crew throughout the transition to REACH and beyond. Mike’s grasp of operational knowledge often leads to him as the “go to guy" to answer questions and solve problems at the base. He goes Above and Beyond to help his peers and always strives to deliver high quality patient care. He leads from the front and is a true Servant Leader.

Josh is very active within his community and has a solid background in EMS and as a flight paramedic. His known dedication confirms he was the right choice for this award.I think Josh is a rockstar and deserves this award because he is dedicated to always doing the best thing for our patients. We are so lucky to work beside him.

Ernie is an extremely dedicated employee. He started out as a base AMT at REACH 11 and grew to a Regional Manager and onto his current role as Maintenance Training Manager. He is always eager to share his knowledge from his experience from line level AMT to management. He is always ready to take on any project of any size in order to improve our Maintenance department and the capabilities of our staff. Ernie is our front line when it comes to training new hires or with aircraft maintenance training. His eagerness to please is infectious. I have repeatedly heard how happy and confident a new AMT is after having Ernie provide the indoc training. His training of AMT's has provided us with more flexibility, confident and happy AMT's in the field and in our hangar.

Teresa Hentz

Coby’s enthusiasm as the face and the voice of REACH in her role as our Receptionist is infectious. Beyond that, however, she cares deeply about helping others. She states quite regularly, “If I can make your job easier or make your day better, that makes me happy.” And she sincerely means that!
